After decades of photographing weddings in color, film, and digital formats, I’m now semi-retired and focusing on my true passions — Black & White Photography and Landscapes.My photography journey began at age 12 with my first camera, and over 30 years later, I’ve worked with nearly every camera brand imaginable.
I received formal training from Milwaukee Area Technical College and Auburn Community College in Auburn, WA, and have continued learning through workshops and countless hours behind the lens.
My travels have taken me to eight countries during my time in the Navy, and I’ve lived in four states, each inspiring my photographic eye in different ways.

Black and white photography is all about the capturing of one moment in time. The trick - the part that drives every photographer - is trying to balance the narrative with the light, the composition and perfect timing. Without photographers, there would be less story telling, less drama, less imagination and the world would be a drearier place.
By using a black and white medium, the challenge is heightened. Now, more than ever, the photographer must consider those key points, sometimes in a heartbeat, before opening the shutter. This is what drives me on. This is why photography and moreover black and white photography is my passion. I will continue to offer black and white photography for sale for as long as the demand is there.
Black and white photography is used to evoke emotion, highlight texture and contrast, and simplify a scene to focus on form and composition. By removing color, it can create a more timeless, dramatic, or moody feel and force both the photographer and viewer to concentrate on the subject's expression, movement, and essential elements.

Black and white Photos convey emotion, a artistic value, and in my opinion better visual thought. Wedding Albums or prints can be all B&W or a mix. Many times I make both side by side and let Client choose what they like better.
